ASPECTS OF STUDY - YEAR 2

THEMATIC SEMINARS II

Focus of the seminars covers three main areas:

> detailed investigation into psychopathology and trauma as understood within the context of both the lower and higher unconscious and the soul journey.

> continued exploration of the processes of change involved in personal and global psychospiritual development, as experienced and understood through psychosynthesis models of the self and the properties of the mind.

> situating psychosynthesis models and practice within the framework of a multicultural, contemporary, changing society and within the evolution of a diverse yet integrative psychological profession.

Teaching is via the following thematic seminars:

> Developmental Psychopathology [15 hours] optional
> Trauma, Addiction and Abuse [12 hours]
> Sexuality and Gender II [12 hours]
> Introduction to Neuroscience [6 hours]
> Guided Imagery II [12 hours]
> Creativity and Mind [12 hours]
> Psychology of Change [12 hours]
> The Global Soul [12 hours]
> Theories of Human Nature [24 hours]
> Diversity and Culture [12 hours]
> Perspectives on Social Change [12 hours]
> Counselling and Research Methods [12 hours]

APPLIED PRACTICE II

Focus of this area is the continued gaining of practical experience in developing and enhancing a field of expression in a chosen setting supported by mentoring supervision.

Teaching is via regular group mentoring supervision sessions [54 hours] and a Case Study preparation seminar [6 hours].

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT II

Focus of this aspect covers two areas:

> the continued psychological, emotional and soul journey towards personal and professional confidence, maturity and relational competence, making use of psychosynthesis as a core model.

> continued learning to apply the theories, models, techniques and skills of psychosynthesis to practical situations in real-world settings and fields of endeavour.

Teaching via a number of means:
> Gestalt II [24 hours]
> Pragmatics of Psychosynthesis practical seminars [30 hours]
> Tutorial groups [12 hours]
> Individual Tutorials [2 hours]
> Individual Tutor progression interview [1 hour]
> Orientation session [3 hours]
> Completion seminar [6 hours]
plus personal therapy [40 hours]
