An additional two years of study for Postgraduate Diploma graduates which offers the opportunity for exciting academic research and further clinical practice under regular supervision to achieve Master's status and accreditation with UKCP.

The Postgraduate Diploma aims to train reflective Psychosynthesis practitioners who work at a high level of competency and are sincerely committed to working with in a transpersonal context with ethical and safe practice. The Master's Degree builds upon this to enable graduates to practice to a depth and degree of clinical expertise and theoretical knowledge that is integrated within the wider field of psychology.

The Trust is an accrediting member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a founding member of the Association for Accredited Psychospiritual Practitioners. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration, enabling them to be included on the UKCP's National Register of Psychotherapists. The Trust is also a founding member of the European Federation for Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy, a Europe-wide organisation and member of the European Association for Psychotherapy.

The aims of the two-year programme are to:
> further develop the professional study, acadmic research and clinical training of graduaates of the Postgradaute Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling, through the writing of a dissertation;
> elaborate on the training of reflective psychosynthesis practitioners who work at a high standard of competency, within a transpersonal context, with ethical and safe practice;
> enable students to practise with a depth and degree of clinical expertise and theoretical knowledge which is integrated with a wider field of psychology and psychotherapy;
> prepare students to gain full independent professional status, accreditation and registration.

The two years are composed of two parts:
> the Atrium Year during which most teaching takes place and clinical practice developed under supervision
> the MA Dissertation Year with further clinical practices.

Atrium Year in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy (Non-UeL)

Programme structure

The programme is a double module, with four components:

ATRIUM YEAR (Double Module):
Component A1 Depth Psychosynthesis
  cultivating an embodied appreciation and understandingof psychosynthesis psychotherapy as distinct from counselling.
   
Component A2 Context Themes
  acquiring an overview of topical themes and concerns essentials to the practice of professional psychotherapy
   
Component A3 Clinical/Applied Practice
  the enhancement of practical experience through the development and maintenance of a safe, ethical practice, with reflective learning supported through supervision.
   
Component A4 Personal Development
  the maturing of psychological, emotional and spiritual development appropriate to a well-rounded, versatile, professional psychotherapy practitioner, making use of psychosynthesis as a core model within an integrated theoretical approach.
   

The time commitment for the Atrium Year is a two or three-day weekend each month, weekly individual therapy, weekly small group supervision, monthly individual supervision and tutorial groups.

Component 13 Research Skills
  prepare for the dissertation through the acquisition of research methodology skills.
   
Component 14 Dissertation
  the researching and writing of a dissertation
   
Component 15 Professional and Personal Development
  the continuation of clinical practice under supervision and the commitment to ongoing personal development.
   

Completion of the Master of Arts in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy

A certificate of study will be awarded upon the successful completion of the Master of Arts in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy.

Entry Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling, Postgraduate Certificate in Psychosynthesis Studies or equivalent.

Format

Atrium Year: 10/11 weekends in either block format (longer weekends) or intermonth format (shorter weekend plus weekeday evenings)

Master of Arts: Approximately one day per month
